Digestion Problems

Ok, so the hand-chopped cauliflower and carrots weren't such a great idea after all, even though they didn't stain my pretty face. I had trouble digesting the veggies because I have a shorter digestive tract than humans, and the chopped greens were too coarse for me to break down. In fact, Mummy noticed that I just passed out carrot shreds!

Thankfully, the family just bought a electric food chopper to mince up my veggies without having to puree them, so that should help my digestion and minimise staining. I feel so loved! Here's a picture of what the food chopper did:

After trying boiled ground chicken and pork, both of which I love, I'm looking forward to checking out some ground beef tonight!

Change of menu!

Ok, the pureed veggies have been staining by muzzle so we're changing the menu! I am now getting 2 tablespoons of chopped up boiled cauliflower (1 head) and carrot (1 big stick), and 3 tablespoons of boiled ground chicken breast. It is yummy!

On another note, my cone was removed for a few minutes, during which I literally scratched non-stop. I hope my skin gets better soon!

All coned up

Today is the second day of my new diet and I'm still loving it! I am now getting two tablespoons of boiled chicken breast and 2 tablespoons of the pureed broccoli (1 head) and carrot (2 big sticks). I have also started to chew on 1 tablet of Kalsi-Um 2000 a day to supplement my calcium intake.

My stools and urine have been normal since my new diet so that's a relief (I heard some dogs experience diarrhoea or constipation). However, I have been coned up again because I started to nibble on my front right leg. I hope the itchiness goes away soon!

1st post!

Hello everyone! My name is Toto and I am an 11 month-old Maltese. I was born in Taiwan but am now 100% Singaporean. I came home to the Lee family when I was 3-months old. I am now part of a loving family of 5 members: Papa, Mummy, and 3 brothers, Edwin, Kelvin, and Nicholas. I am playful with humans (except for strangers) but shy with dogs. My favourite foods are apples and bananas. I like to sleep under Papa and Mummy's bed sometimes, and I also have a very cosy cot which I like to mess up. I bark a lot and I like to chew on socks and floor mats. Here's a recent picture of me:

I have sensitive skin and I have seen the vet before. But I shiver every time I go to the doctor. I scratch a lot and tear quite a bit, which results in red tear stains on my face. My head has a "doggie smell" even though my body doesn't really smell. Despite my condition, my family loves me very much and they really want to help me get better! Edwin did some reading online and discovered that my diet could be one cause of my physical conditions.

I have been eating processed dog food (I don't like this) and treats (this I like) ever since I came home 8 months ago, but I have just started a natural food diet today. I had 1 tablespoon of boiled chicken breast and 2 tablespoons of pureed broccoli and carrot today. I know it may sound gross to you, but I licked up every bit of it! Here's a picture of my lunch:

That's all for now. See you soon!
